I
backtracked on State HWY 7, across the Kansas-Nebraska line, to the
Nemaha River. The Nemaha passes through the Iowa Indian Reservation
into the Missouri. The Corps camped here July 11-12 and explored the
area. The highway runs near the Missouri River a few miles south of
Rulo. There's a nice parking area here along with maps and information
signs. The photos, above, are toward the confluence, near the probable
location of the campsite. The Missouri channel ran a bit more to the
east in 1804. |
