Scenes
of life and death would have become familiar sights to emigrants by
the time they reached Huntington Creek on HCO. Cow skulls and wild
iris existed in proximity near South Fork Twin Creek. This creek flows
northwest into Huntington Creek. We followed it hoping it would lead
us to Huntington Creek which had veered west into swampland north
of Sadler Ranch. Twin Creek also became swamped before the confluence
with Huntington, so we waded waist deep to reach our goal. Once we
located Huntington Creek, we retreated to dry ground, knowing it and
HCO weren't far to the west. Our team proceeded north following the
creek as close as we could, left. The west face of the Ruby Mountains
is in the background. |
