| Clark
moved his party in the canoes up the Jefferson River on the 7/13/06
morning. He met Sgt Pryor with the horses at the Madison River entrance,
and moved over to the Gallatin River. See the map on previous page.
They divided the troops into Clark's land party, headed east to the
Yellowstone; and Ordway took 10 men in 6 canoes heading north, down
the Missouri to Great Falls. Carrying a note to Lewis from Clark,
he met a Lewis crew at the falls. Together they continued down the
Missouri to rendevous with Lewis at the Marias R. |
