Lewis & Clark Trail
The sign lists the groups and individuals who worked to get this park established. The Corps erected barriers across the point for protection. Here they dried equipment, repaired a pirogue. The Captains measured the river widths and marked them on a map. They also spotted some Carolina parakeets. These birds no longer exist. Workers are still in the process of making the point look like the 1804 campsite.
