Scenes
along the River's Edge Trail. It follows the Missouri River east and
west past the Interpretive Center and Giant Springs. It also passes
by Rainbow and Crooked Falls to the east, and Black Eagle Falls to
the west. All of these images were taken near Black Eagle Falls. Black
Eagle Island, left, sits just down river from the falls. An eagle
used to nest in a cottonwood tree on an island, like this, near the
falls. Captain Lewis saw it, but Indians had seen it for years and
named the falls earlier. |
