Once
The Corps blazed the trail along the upper Missouri, fur trappers
weren't far behind. The word was passed back to civilization. Homesteaders
trickled in to this labor intensive land. Of course there are many
ranches currently operating all along the river; however, it took
real courage to commit to this land. Plains Indians passed through
the area for centuries but chose to live in more hospitable territory. |
