The
Fort to Sea Trail starts from the Fort Clatsop outer parking lot.
You can also reach the trail from a parking area on Ft Clatsop Road.
On December 16, 1805, Clark commented on the weather: "The wind
violent Trees falling in every derection, whorl winds, with gusts
of rain Hail & Thunder...." The scene, right, is evidence
that it still occurs. Berries were a native food staple, salmon, or
thimble berry, top right, and salal, right center. The Corps traded
for the dried versions. |
