| I've
made several visits to Astoria. This trip was to attend the Lewis
& Clark Trail Heritage Foundation 50th Annual Meeting, October
7-10, 2018. I spent more time here than the last trips, so observed
more than the Lewis & Clark Trail places. The iconic Astoria Bridge
spans the Columbia River, north, to Megler Washington. The Astoria
waterfront, seen from the excursion boat Portland Spirit, top left,
and above. The pelican, left, rested on this piling every afternoon,
never moving until after dark. I photographed it each afternoon I
was in the area. The LC Foundation's meetings were held at the BridgeWater
Bistro, on the waterfront, in the red buildings at right, above. |
