The
interpretive center is off WA HWY 100 3 miles west of Ilwaco. Signs
at the Cape Disappointment SP entrance give directions to the center.
It sits on a bluff at the mouth of the Columbia River. The top floor
windows, right, give a great view of the estuary leading to the Pacific
Ocean, above. The Cape Disappointment Lighthouse, top left, guards
the Columbia River estuary and Baker Bay. A trail leads around the
ravine from the interpretive center, south, to the lighthouse. |
