On-A-Slant Village

The simple grandeur of the council lodge reminds the visitor that he has entered a place of power. A state park ranger will guide you through all three lodges, explaing the cultural aspects of the structures. The reconstruction began in the 1930's by the CCC guided by a Mandan Indian Corn Priestess. In 1992 the council lodge was rebuilt with the help of park foundation funds.
