I-84, pick up US HWY 30 (Historic Columbia River HWY) to get to this
series of falls. Left to right: Horsetail Falls, Bridal Veil Falls,
and Latourell Falls - second highest falls in the Columbia River Gorge.
The Corps passed these falls on November 2, 1805, after passing by
Beacon Rock. I-84 from Cascade Locks OR to Troutdale OR retraces the
Corps' journey on the south side of the Columbia. When the LCT follows
a river, I drive one side to a certain logical point and then moved
to the other side if there are significant LCT sites to be explored. |
