Clarkston Washington
The Corps paddled down the Snake River, right, on October 11, 1805. They visited a native village clustered near the Alpowa Creek confluence, top left. Lower Granite Dam, several miles down river, inundated the village site, near the shore, above. Tamootsin was 5 years old when the Corps visited his Nez Perce village in 1805 and again in 1806. From Clarkston, I visited down river sites, on WA HWY 193-194 before taking US HWY 12, 10 miles west, to Chief Timothy State Park,
