an
impressive sculpture of Sacajawea, with Jean Baptise, "Pomp,"
securely strapped to her back, stands in front of Sacajawea Hall on
the Lewis and Clark State College Campus. As the Captains noted, her
presence with the Corps alleviated fears in a great number of Native
American tribes from here to the Pacific Ocean. Follow signs to the
campus from US HWY 12 in Lewiston. Once on campus, ask for directions
to Sacajawea Hall. |
