Lewis & Clark Trail
St Louis Missouri
I returned to the Lewis & Clark Trail in May, 2008. I had travelled and photographed the trail from just north of Omaha NB to Ft Clatsop, just south of Astoria OR, during the summer of 2007. Photos from a section of that journey - Pelican Point SRA NB to Ft Mandan ND were posted on this site last December. They are on pages 1-52. This new section's pages are numbered 1a etc. The Gateway Arch symbolizes westward expansion which began with the Lewis & Clark journey at Wood River IL, a few miles up the Mississippi River from here. The Arch is part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial. Parking is easy to find right off I-70, with a short walk to the site.
