Native American display, at this small visitor center, illustrates
the impact the multitude of western tribes had on the success of the
Lewis and Clark Expedition. Previous pages have already revealed this
fact. The Salish they left a few days earlier were in the late summer
phase of the seasonal calendar, right. Corps members, dutifully recorded
customs, diets, language, relations with other tribes, etcetera. Visitor
centers along the entire Lewis and Clark Trail house extensive artifacts
and information concerning Native populations in their areas. Books
