Reed, of the sign quote, above, was a principal member of the Donner-Reed
emigrant group. Cave Creek shoots out of a hillside, top right,a few
miles south of the Bressman Cabin site. It's on the west side of Ruby
Valley Road (HCO). Like countless other streams, along the east side
of the Ruby Mountains, it surges east from its source, above. It passes
under the road (over the trail in the 1800's) and seeks a lower elevation,
right. In this case it's termination is Ruby Lake. Today, May 19,
2006, our team's 14th day, would find us at a formal National Forest
Service campground. |
